An Anchorman-Themed Baby Shower Works Every Time

anchorman-shower-4

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is one of the most quotable and thoroughly awesome comedies ever. So, when our good friend Aarti Mahtani Raman of AMR Catering was commissioned for an Anchorman-themed baby shower, she created a series of treats that are sort of a big deal.

Borrowing from Anchorman’s quote arsenal, Aarti used them as inspiration for her baked goods. From Butterscotch Blondie Bars — inspired by Ron Burgundy’s proclamation of scotch-love — to Sex Panther Cake Pops that are made from bits of brownie, so you know they’re good.

See more from the series below. And remember… milk is a good choice.

Le Voyage Dans la Lune Recreated In Cake Frosting

trip-to-the-moon

If you’ve never seen Le Voyage Dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon), it’s probably because it was a movie made well over one-hundred years ago, and contains no superheroes or hobbits.

Either way, to pay homage to the film and the anniversary of the actual first moon landing, Henry Hargreaves recreated the iconic last scene of Le Voyage in cake frosting.

With the help of frosting model Amirah Kassem from Flour Shop, Hargreaves brings us the moon landing scene via animated gif, which matches the choppy pace of the movie perfectly.

Alien Chestburster Macarons

Remember the scene in Alien, when dinner starts out innocently enough — until Kane starts violently convulsing and an alien pops out of his chest and creates a bloody mess? Well, now it’s a yummy dessert.

Brought to us by UK-based Lou Lou P’s Delights, the Alien Chestburster Macaron is part of an Alien-inspired series. All of which may ruin dinner, but will certainly make up for it during dessert.
