Drinkware Transforms Liquid Into The Phases of The Moon

It’s certainly no super blood moon, but these ceramic drinking vessels will take you through the typical phases.

The Moon Glass, by Korean design company Tale Design, is designed especially to turn traditional rice wine, or any light-colored liquid into a crescent, half, or full phase.

And, if you missed the recent Blood Moon because of pesky clouds, use a red liquid to create your own. Check it out here.

The Moon Cake Is Inexplicably Not Made of Cheese

moon-cake

If you’re sick of planet-themed baked goods, it’s finally time for a satellite dessert.

The Moon Cake, adapted from a David Lebovitz recipe, is a simple chocolate cake. The moon’s surface is made with Empress Pearl Dust, to give it the cratered surface, and optional astronaut footprint.

Invite some conspiracy theorists and try to convince them that you really baked it.

Cosmic Diner, Dinnerware Made To Look Like The Planets, Moons, and Sun

1

If you’re looking to make a dinner party that’s out of this world, or have Neil deGrasse Tyson coming over, the Cosmic Diner Plate Set is here to help.

The 11-piece set includes a few planets, moons and our sun. But, unlike previous planet plates, Cosmic Diner shows no love for Mother Earth. Although the set does include Saturn’s moon, Titan, and was nice enough to not relegate Pluto to a snack plate. Poor Pluto.

Le Voyage Dans la Lune Recreated In Cake Frosting

trip-to-the-moon

If you’ve never seen Le Voyage Dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon), it’s probably because it was a movie made well over one-hundred years ago, and contains no superheroes or hobbits.

Either way, to pay homage to the film and the anniversary of the actual first moon landing, Henry Hargreaves recreated the iconic last scene of Le Voyage in cake frosting.

With the help of frosting model Amirah Kassem from Flour Shop, Hargreaves brings us the moon landing scene via animated gif, which matches the choppy pace of the movie perfectly.
