The Shining Hotel Carpet Cake Is Probably REDRUM Flavored

March 18, 2019 by Chris Durso

The Shining had some of the scariest moments in cinematic history. One of which was the Overlook Hotel’s carpet choice.

Nonetheless, the carpet pattern is not only iconic, it’s recently been made into a delicious roll cake.

Brought to us by The Homicidal Homemaker, The Shining REDRUM Roll Cake is made with the help of chocolate cake and some food coloring.

Served with an axe, the cake can be enjoyed at any hotel bar or hedge maze. Just remember… all work and no cake makes Jack something something.

The Damasu 950 Kitchen Tool, It Slices, It Dices, It Massacres and Dismembers

June 23, 2017 by Chris Durso

Slicing food is hard. Regardless of how sharp your knives are, there’s pressure to be applied, and then there’s the strenuous back and forth motion. Thankfully, the Damasu 950 is here to help.

The omnidirectional and gas-powered kitchen tool is brought to us by infomercial ‘Cooking With Bill.’ Watch as ‘Bill’ demonstrates, and massacres, a block of cheese and an unfortunate turkey. Just watch your fingers… unlike Bill did.

Cooking with Bill, and the Damasu 950, are brought to us by Oats Studios.

Alien Chestburster Pie and Other Xenomorphic Treats

May 15, 2017 by Chris Durso

Artist Christine McConnell is all about creating dessert masterpieces to freak us out. Her latest series is no exception, with confectioneries to promote the release of Alien: Covenant.

The Chestburster Pie is part of the series, complete with edible symbiont bursting through the pie’s strawberry innards. The Xenomorph Cake, modeled after an alien’s head, is so true to form, that it wouldn’t surprise us if cutting into it would cause severe acid burns.

See more below and over at McConnell’s Instagram.

Horror Movie Pop-Tarts Will Haunt Your Toaster

January 16, 2017 by Chris Durso

Pop-Tarts are already frightening enough, containing over 18g of sugar each. Not to mention the way they violently spring from the toaster.

Graphic artist and horror movie enthusiast, Newt Cloninger-Clements, wants to terrorize your breakfast further with Horror Movie Pop-Tarts. Imagine a frosted and sprinkled Jason Voorhees emerging from your toaster when you least expect it. And, don’t think just because you ate him that he won’t be back.

Check out more scary Pop-Tarts below and here.

Peeled: The Potato Resurrection is The Potato Horror Film We’ve Been Waiting For

October 10, 2016 by Chris Durso

potato-horror-film

If the sound of “fries, baked or mashed?” makes your blood run cold, or you’re gluten-intolerant… look away from the screen.

Peeled: The Potato Resurrection is the potato-themed horror film we didn’t know we needed. Although merely a faux-trailer, the short film by Katrina Naficy and Nick Massey is a terrifying tale of a woman haunted by the root vegetable. Even if celery root and beets are far scarier.

Watch as a potato bleeds for no good reason, and stay for the potato birth scene… seriously.
