To help promote the new R-rated animated film, Sausage Party, creator Seth Rogen placed talking food throughout a supermarket in New York City.

Unsuspecting shoppers are surprised when cantaloupes, loaves of bread and deli meats come alive to question the people’s food choices. The intent, besides to help promote a movie filled with anthropomorphic foods, is to make people feel a little guilty about eating them.

Watch as some shoppers recoil in horror, as some taunt the talking food by eating their unanimated brethren. Please watch.

We’ve certainly had our fill of anthropomorphic food and animated movies. However, we’ve never seen CG foods with foul mouths starring in a veritable horror film.

Sausage Party is the adult animated movie we didn’t know we needed. Its protagonist is a sentient hot dog voiced by Seth Rogen who, along with other foods, quickly discover their post-supermarket fate.

Animated horror and excessive cursing ensues. See the red band trailer below (NSFW).

Let’s say that a Twinkie represents the normal amount of copious creme filling. According to this morning’s news, there’s now a Twinkie that’s filled with green key lime creme. Sadly, its size is still within the normal range.

To help tie into the upcoming Ghostbusters film, Hostess will unleash Key Lime Slime Twinkies. No mention as to when they will be available, but you can be sure that there’ll be the perfect green beverage to wash them down with.

With the film version of Fifty Shades of Grey finally unleashed, the harsh reviews and parodies of the film are plentiful. Which leads us to 50 Shades of Food by photographer Bryan Regan.

The series, juxtaposing submissive humans for food items, includes a donut on a butt plug, a nimple-clamped lemon, and a poor little tied-up honey bear. At the very least, 50 Shades of Food could be a bit hunger-inducing… whether you’re “into that sort of thing” or not.
