August 4, 2016 by Chris Durso

If you’re still on a quest to “catch ’em all,” then you’ll want to add “Delicious Macaron Pikachu” to the list.

Created by Dalmiin Baking Studio, the chocolate Poké Ball is intricately created out of chocolate, while our friend Pikachu the macaron hides inside. Pikachu is found after heated chocolate is poured over top.

Just remember to look up every once in a while during dessert.

Brought to us by NYC-based pastry chef, Ayako Kurokawa, is the Cactus Macaron. Stacked and made to look like a prickly houseplant, this one appears safe to eat.

Pluto Macaron Just Wants To Be Loved

July 16, 2015 by Chris Durso

After NASA recently spotted a heart-shaped mass on Pluto, it appears that the dwarf planet just wants to be loved.

Lou Lou Ps Delights, always up for some fun with confectionaries, created the Pluto Macaron.

Complete with a painted-on heart, the celestial orb looks up at you with loving eyes. This is either to implore NASA to return it to full-planet status, or to get you not to eat it.

August 14, 2014 by Chris Durso

At the time of this writing, and with the exception of the impenetrable cupcake, there are no hotter food trends than macarons and ice cream sandwiches.

So, with the news that there’s now such a thing as Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches, the food world could very well implode in on itself… leaving nothing but cupcakes.

This food trend mash-up is the work of Chef François Payard. Presented in three varieties — Salted Caramel, Coconut Mango, and Pistachio Raspberry — they’re only available at François Payard’s Bakery and FP Patisserie in New York City until the end of August.

Alien Chestburster Macarons

October 29, 2013 by Chris Durso

Remember the scene in Alien, when dinner starts out innocently enough — until Kane starts violently convulsing and an alien pops out of his chest and creates a bloody mess? Well, now it’s a yummy dessert.

Brought to us by UK-based Lou Lou P’s Delights, the Alien Chestburster Macaron is part of an Alien-inspired series. All of which may ruin dinner, but will certainly make up for it during dessert.
