CHOW Kicks It Old School with The Last Kodachrome Christmas

Rustic Tavern by CHOW

CHOW recently presented a tribute to American cuisine past and antiquated mediums with The Last Kodachrome Christmas. The photo shoot is inspired by vintage food photography, and uses actual Kodachrome — a type of film long assumed extinct, but rather just in its late stage death throes.

Often associated with boring vacation slides and brilliantly oversaturated imagery, one might ask why CHOW would even use Kodachrome. Well, the answer can be summed up by a simple philosophy that we stick to here at Foodiggity… food ephemera kicks ass.

Here at Foodiggity, we’ve tried to keep up with the ongoing ‘most expensive’ beer competition. At the time of this writing, the current title holder was an $800 bottle of Antarctic Nail Ale, which was made with the finest ice from Antarctica — seriously.

But consider the other side of the spectrum, and one can’t help but wonder, ‘What is the cheapest beer in the world?’ Most would argue that some mass-produced American piss water such as Natural Light would be the ultimate beer of shame. However, as far as the cheapest beer per serving, it is actually an ale from Vietnam that reigns supreme.

Foodiggity Turns 1

Today, the greatest food and lifestyle site ever* is off the formula and is switching to whole milk, i.e., Foodiggity turns one year old.

It was one year ago today that I hit the ‘publish’ button on our welcome post, and began my campaign for total internet food culture domination. Originally conceived to be ‘more than your average food blog’, Foodiggity has seen a few transformations over the past year. Some changes were based on new trends in food and our own web traffic — some were made in response to life-changing events. All the while, still keeping with the original plan to offer the best food-related nonsense that I could find.
