We’ve all received one at one time or another… The restaurant “guest check.” Most likely it came after breakfast at the diner or luncheonette, and the closest thing to art on it, was a smiley face drawn by the waitress. Guest Checks is a site dedicated to something that never gets old — taking the mundane and making it beautiful.
Wacky Packages, Making Fun of American Products One Sticker at a Time
For those who didn’t grow up in the 70s or early 80s, Wacky Packages might be lost on you. Because it was around that time that the satirical sticker series was at its popularity apex, and its sophomoric play on words was actually considered high comedy.
Originally released in 1967 by Topps, Wacky Packages bashed U.S. products, and were a thinly-veiled criticism of American advertising and consumerism. However, that wasn’t what made kids at the time collect these by the pack.
Rather, it was our familiarity with these everyday products and awesome illustration, mixed with gross-out humor. That’s also what made any flat surface a potential canvas for a Wacky Packages sticker collage.
From Footsie Rolls and Plastered Peanuts to Hostage Cupcakes and Raw Goo Spaghetti Sauce — no consumer product was safe from being mocked in sticker form.
Who remembers these and/or had a fridge covered in them?

Instant Gratification: The Top Ten Instant Noodles In The World
Here at Foodiggity, we’re pretty psyched to welcome a guest post from Hans Lienesch, aka ‘The Ramen Rater.’ If you couldn’t already tell by the moniker, Hans likes his instant noodles. So much so, that he’s dedicated a site to nothing but them, and has since sampled hundreds of unique varieties from all over the world. And now we get his top ten of all time. Hans, go…
Since I was a small child, I have enjoyed instant noodles. It started out with what every other kid in the USA had — Top Ramen. Then came Roasted Ramen, noodles that already had the seasoning within them — no packet! Until these were off the market, and everything changed in my instant noodle world.
My parents took me south to Seattle. And what I discovered at about 12-yrs-old, was that there were now a ton of varieties of instant noodles. With different colored packaging and strange foreign writing I couldn’t begin to understand — making them almost impossible to cook.
Over 30 years later and having officially sampled over 650 different unique varieties, I’ve come up with a list of my favorites. It changes from time to time as I find new varieties to enjoy, but here it is as it stands currently.
R2-D2 Apron
For the domestic goddess/Star Wars geek, there’s the R2-D2 Apron by Haute Mess. Available at Etsy, the apron was created to look like everyone’s favorite stubby droid, with black bows added for some flair. There’s even two handy front pockets — perfect for holding recipes, or plans to destroy the Death Star.

Spread The Love, Foodiggity’s Valentine’s Day Gift Guide
If chocolate companies and Hallmark are to be believed, then February 14 becomes the only chance you’ll get all year to profess our love. And for the purposes of Foodiggity’s Valentine’s Day Gift Guide, we would have to agree. Although our list is void of anything pink or heart-shaped, these gifts should help get the point across that you’re serious about this relationship — if only for one day. Don’t screw it up.
