This Adorable Girl Wears Food Thanks To Her Mom and Forced Perspective

July 13, 2017 by Chris Durso

Wearing food is always fun. However, it doesn’t get any better, than when it’s done as creatively and adorably as this.

Artist, Alya Chaglar, uses food and foliage to ‘dress’ her 3-year-old daughter, Stefani. Alya holds up the item, Stefani strikes a pose, and suddenly this little girl is all about food couture. See more below, and over at the duo’s Instagram page.

Awesome Dad Created A Bento Box From His Daughter’s Drawing

May 25, 2017 by Chris Durso

We’ve seen our share of moms and dads making their kid’s school lunches more fun. However, it’s always the parent that’s showing off their illustration skills and creativity.

Takafumi Ozeki often makes character bento boxes (kyara-ben) for his pre-school daughter. Only for this one entry, he let his daughter’s skills shine, with a bento box created from her drawing.

Although the teacher might be concerned that dad’s bento skills have diminished, the story behind this lunch should probably be shared at the next parent/teacher conference.

A Restaurant Comes Up With A Brilliant Menu To Deal With Indecisive Children

September 29, 2016 by Chris Durso

Determined children, who know exactly what they want to eat, will usually order a hot dog, chicken tenders, or similar. These children are what’s known as an anomaly. For the other 99.9% of children who “don’t know,” or “don’t care,” there’s now a menu for that.

Front Street Deli, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, will help any kid decide. Their kids’ menu consists of titles inspired by typical child responses, with an included edible counterpart. The “I Don’t Care” is a hot dog with French fries, while an “I’m Not Hungry” is a grilled cheese with French fries.

Now, we just need a menu for couples with items such as, “I Don’t Know, What Do You Want?” and “Are You Gonna Finish That?”

Watch Kids Try Brown Bag Lunches From Last Century

September 16, 2016 by Chris Durso

hundred-years-lunches

Have you ever wondered how school children survived lunchtime, before there were juice boxes and Lunchables? Bon Appétit decided to subject a few youngsters to this horror, one decade at a time.

Kids Try 100 Years of Brown Bag Lunches is a short video, that shows us few things have changed about lunch at school over the past century. Kids sit, reach into a bag, and reveal what mom packed for them, one item at a time.

The only differences… radish sandwiches were once deemed edible, moms thought that wedge salads were a suitable replacement for sandwiches, and the 30s were kinda rough.

The overwhelming response from the kids, at least until the 70s, are mostly “eeew,” blank stares, and looks of soul-crushing disappointment. Please enjoy.

Lunch has never looked as good as these works of food art by Laleh Mohmedi.

The complete meals are created especially for Laleh’s son, Jacob, and are not only completely health-conscious, but they stare back at Jacob with a smile.

Pop culture characters and celebrity dishes include Pluto, Uncle Sam, Spongebob and others. See more below and over on Instagram.
