The Ramen Guitar Plays Instant Classics

September 24, 2019 by Chris Durso

Instant ramen… it keeps co-eds alive for 59-cents a day and provides a week’s worth of sodium in one convenient package. Now, the cost-effective noodles are here to bring some rock and roll.

Artem Mayer created the Ramen Noodle Guitar. Using 36 packs of ramen noodles, and 5 liters of polyester resin — the guitar may take a lot longer to make than a cup of noodles, but it’s completely handcrafted and fully-functional.

Rock on, broke people!

The Ramen Purse Will Instantly Be Your Favorite Accessory

August 12, 2019 by Chris Durso

Looking for the perfect handbag that is sophisticated, yet shows that you’re a bit frugal? The Noodles Purse is here to help.

Brought to us by Etsy shop, rommydebommy, the handbag is made to look just like a brick of instant noodles, pre-soak.

It’s made of foam and has enough space in it to hold a few small items. Although, since it’s handcrafted to order, the Noodle Purse won’t come cheap — about $388. Or, about 388 instant ramen dinners.

Pringles-flavored Ramen Exists Because Japan

October 11, 2018 by Chris Durso

For our former and current co-eds who know the struggle of purchasing your Pringles and instant ramen separately, please avert your eyes.

Pringles Ramen, not to be confused with Ramen Pringles, is now a thing. There are two varieties available — Sour Cream and Onion Noodles (a yaki-soba fried noodles flavor) and Jalapeño and Onion Ramen.

Pringles Ramen are available for pre-order here.

Instant Ramen Warriors Will Fight Your Hunger War

August 29, 2018 by Chris Durso

Don’t worry, these warriors may have noodle arms, plastic weapons and flimsy styrofoam armor — but they will fight ’til the death of your hunger.

Noodle Warriors were created by Japanese artist, Taishi Arimura. Using every component of an instant noodle package, Taishi not only brings these sodium-laden soldiers to life, but gives them battle-ready poses and utensil weapons. See more Noodle Warriors below and over on Instagram.

Watch This Death Metal Ramen Commercial

April 27, 2018 by Chris Durso

Nothing says ‘instant noodles’ like some good ol’ death metal. Nissin knows this and has used some heavy music and seizure-inducing animation to sell some noods.

The commercial begins innocently enough with an adorable baby chick trying to enjoy lunch. Then, it gets weird, and METAAAAAAALLL!!
