An Edible Ugly Christmas Sweater Exists

The ugly Christmas sweater trend may be getting a bit boring. So, perhaps it’s time to kick it up a notch, and start making them edible.

Baker and food stylist, Juliet Sear, feels the same way, and has created an edible ugly Christmas sweater. The garish holiday attire consists of 22 pounds of icing, 11 pounds of marzipan, and over 2 pounds of chocolate. I see a new trend forming here.

The Edible Spoon

Presentation_Image2

Plastic spoons… They’re used quickly, then discarded, only to spend the next several decades trying to decompose in some landfill. The Edible Spoon is here to help, with a neat little scooping utensil that’s 100% biodegradable and 100% edible.

Brought to us by Triangle Tree, the spoons are made mostly of organic corn and flour, and available in three flavors: Plain, Spicy and Sweet. Great… But there’s a missed opportunity here to save some forks. Bring on the edible sporks!

Chocolate Beer With an Edible Chocolate Glass

chocolate-beer

Sure, you could drink your beer from a boring ol’ non-edible glass. Unless of course, that beer is a chocolate stout, and Japanese brewery Sankt Gallen is offering an edible chocolate glass to go with it.

Limited quantities were recently available, but the opportunity to eat/drink chocolate was a little hard to resist and they sold out almost immediately.

An Edible Valentine’s Day Card

3

Valentine’s Day approaches, and it’s time to express your love by sending your valentine a card. But you’d also like to send them some chocolate or other yummy treat. Well, times are tough, and skimping on Hallmark holidays is a great first step to financial recovery.

Enter the Edible Valentine’s Card. Brought to us by artist Emily Evans, the “Eternal Love” card could also be written on with the included edible ink pen. Although there’s no mention of what flavor the card actually is — it’s made from potato starch, vegetable oil, and water. Hey, if it’s meant to be, your lover won’t mind a flavorless Valentine’s Card.

Have a Light Lunch with The Edible Desk Lamp

Working through lunch again, and can’t get away from your desk? Lucky for you, New York-based artist Victor Vetterlein has come up with an edible desk lamp. Officially-titled Bite Me, the lamp is made from vegetable glycerin and agar, with an embedded LED light source.

Once the LED is removed and the lamp is softened in water, it can be consumed, and you can get back to work. Have fun doing those expense reports in the dark, office drone. Bite Me will be available soon in four flavors — orange, cherry, blueberry and apple.
