The United Steaks of America, An Interactive Map of Each US States’ Official Meat

united-steaks-of-america

It’s no secret that ‘Merica loves its meat. So… Why do only four States in the Union — Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Texas — claim an animal-based food item as their official State fare?

L.V. Anderson over at Slate looks to fix this atrocious oversight, with The United Steaks of America. The interactive map shows an awesome and complete disregard for “official” State foods — placing in its stead, an unofficial meat for each.

Check it out, and see if they got your States’ meat-of-choice correct. Foodiggity, based in New Jersey, would argue that Taylor Ham should be our State meat. South Jerseyans can then argue that it should be “Pork Roll.” Nonetheless… Check out the fully-operational map here.

Pizza Hut Makes Ordering Terrible Pizza Easier With A Touchscreen Menu Table

pizza-hut-interactive

Coming soon to a red-roofed, pizza-like eating establishment near you — perhaps — is the Pizza Hut Touchscreen Menu Table.

The concept is simple… Sit down at a table at Pizza Hut, which is actually a large interactive tablet, and use the touchscreen to create your pizza. Choose the size, sauce it up, and then go to town on toppings. Your table will even let you play games on it while you wait for your grub.

The Chop-Syc, An Interactive Chopping Board For The Tech-Savvy Cook

sharp-top

Sure, you have an iPad that provides the world at your fingertips… But unfortunately, there’s still no app that’ll allow you to cut food on it.

The Chop-Syc is a new concept by Sharp, that’s an interactive cutting board. It helps slice and dice on its scratch-proof LCD touchscreen — it’s also a calculator, a kitchen scale, and a web browser. Everything a tech-savvy cook needs to get dinner ready.

So, Foodiggity has a cutting board too. It doesn’t light up or have a fancy web browser, but it’s made from bamboo. Bamboo, people!

Interactive Skittles Ads Urge You To Touch The Rainbow

Skittles and BBDO Toronto have teamed up again for a series of interactive and mind-fucky ads. And believe me when I say that ‘interactive’ is used in the loosest terms possible.

Viewers are now asked to ‘Touch the Rainbow’, wherein placing your finger on the screen makes it part of the action. Again, ‘action’… terms… loose. Please watch.
