The Churroduo Has The Churro Tetrahedrons We Deserve

churroduo

Finally, a dessert to satiate the geometrician with a sweet tooth. No longer do churros only exist on the x-axis, thanks to The Churroduo.

Brought to us by the creator of the Cronut and block-long lines of hipsters, Dominique Ansel, the 3-D dessert is made possible with two interlocking churro triangles. One, the yang if you will, is what you might consider a standard light-colored churro, while the yin is made with black sesame and black sugar.

The Churroduo is currently available only at Ansel’s Tokyo location. However, he has already hinted at its eventual availability here in the U.S. We can hear the lines forming now.

When boring round cakes just won’t do, there’s these architectural and geometric masterpieces by Ukrainian chef, Dinara Kasko.

Applying her background in architectural-design, Kasko creates desserts with lines and structural composition that’s often reserved for designing large sculptures, or the exterior of an art museum.

Check out more of Kasko’s work below and over on Instagram.

Food Cut And Arranged Into 98 Perfect Cubes

I’m not sure if this project by Dutch artists Lernert and Sander gets me hungry, inspired, or makes me want to do geometry.

Nonetheless, the artists created Cubes, where they cut and arranged raw foods into ninety-eight, meticulously-cut, 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm cubes.

The project was commissioned by Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant for their their food-themed photography special. Now excuse me, while I go have some lunch and do math.

Mathematical Cookies by Vi Hart

math-cookies-vi-hart

Our favorite mathematician and burrito enthusiast, Vi Hart, is back and she’s baking cookies. Taking a much needed break from math conferences and euclidian algorithms, Vi decided to get together with friends and bake.

However, the day-off quickly turns into an exercise in geometrical patterns and Brunnian links — therefore math is heavily involved, day-off thwarted. Please watch this…
