Le Nid, A Nest-Themed Sky Bar in France

High above the city of Nantes in western France, is perhaps one of the most interesting and thematic sky bars in the world. Le Nid (The Nest) was created by graphic artist Jean Jullien, and is exactly what the title implies. Located at the Tour de Bretagne, the bar is occupied by an enormous stork/heron, who keeps a watchful eye over the city, and its “nest” of eggs.

And while the space is meant to be fully-functional and interactive, part of the large bird becomes the actual bar, and its eggs are the tables and chairs. Le Nid is open to the public, so it’s not only a great place to relax and grab a drink 144m over the city, but it also becomes a very high art installation.

The French Bring The Sexy Back To Weight Loss In New Weight Watchers Campaign

And here we thought that French women didn’t get fat. Well, apparently they do. And where there are fat people, there is Weight Watchers, happy to accept your monthly fee. Seen here in this campaign for Weight Watchers, the French show their incredible knack for taking something terribly unsexy — like weight loss — and creating borderline porn.

Urging chubby Frenchmen to ‘Treat Yourself Better,’ the new campaign is focused around overly glossed lips, toying with food in the most suggestive ways possible. Although, some people seeing the commercial and print ads might not know whether to call Weight Watchers or dim the lights, we must give props for creativity. After all, they did avoid the easy sell by not using corn dogs and tacos.

The Two-Headed Burger Monster

Just when Americans thought they’d cornered the market on horrifying sandwich creations, Belgian/French fast food chain Quick has released Le Double Mix.

In what appears to be a failed experiment by Seth Brundle, Le Double Mix is a ‘burger’ with sauce au poivre on one side, and sauce au brie fondu on the other. And if you have no idea what those are, no worries — the sandwich is only available in countries that take an hour to say ‘melted cheese’.
