Creative Sidewalk Chalkboard Art by Ollie Wolff Pruitt

September 9, 2016 by Chris Durso

Sidewalk chalkboards may seem like an antiquated way to drive customers in. However, when used correctly, that chalkboard could become a business’ best form of marketing.

This series, by Ollie Wolff Pruitt, proves this. Pruitt started creating chalkboard signs for her friend’s bar in Dahlonega, Georgia. The sidewalk art not only helped improve business, but was also featured in a local newspaper, giving the artist and bar some great free publicity.

Of course, Pruitt doesn’t just list the happy hour and food specials on her chalkboards. What gets people in the door is Pruitt’s creative use of illustration, typography and wordplay. Occasionally, she even borrows ideas from comic masters such as The Oatmeal.

See more below and over on Pruitt’s imgur page.

The Bulleit Frontier Trailer, For Classy Tailgating

March 25, 2013 by Chris Durso

Imagine pulling up to your next tailgate party in this? Brought to us by Neiman Marcus, the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Woody-Tailgate Trailer is here to help give that parking lot a much-needed upgrade.

The trailer itself was designed by interior designer Brad Ford… But the money shot will be when you open up the back to reveal the sleek leather furnishings, elegant glassware, and a top-notch entertainment system, including a flat-screen TV, Blu-ray Disc™ player, and a state-of-the-art sound system. Also included is a one-year supply of Bulleit Bourbon and Bulleit Rye.

The price tag for such a fancy trailer… $150,000. So, you probably won’t have much left for tickets to a game or anything, so never mind. Check it out anyways.

Le Nid, A Nest-Themed Sky Bar in France

July 18, 2012 by Chris Durso

High above the city of Nantes in western France, is perhaps one of the most interesting and thematic sky bars in the world. Le Nid (The Nest) was created by graphic artist Jean Jullien, and is exactly what the title implies. Located at the Tour de Bretagne, the bar is occupied by an enormous stork/heron, who keeps a watchful eye over the city, and its “nest” of eggs.

And while the space is meant to be fully-functional and interactive, part of the large bird becomes the actual bar, and its eggs are the tables and chairs. Le Nid is open to the public, so it’s not only a great place to relax and grab a drink 144m over the city, but it also becomes a very high art installation.
