This Lucky Charms Cake Is Filled With Irish Whiskey and Rainbows

irishwhiskeycake

Nothing says, “Irish” and “St. Patty’s Day,” quite like the colorful marbits of Lucky Charms Cereal. And, perhaps some Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Charles Phoenix agrees, and has created the Irish Whiskey Soaked Lucky Charms Cake. The cake is covered in the sugary Lucky Charms marbits, with not an oat cluster in sight. And the best part… Cutting into the cake to reveal a rainbow, and the fact that the cake is Jameson-flavored.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots

Line ’em up… Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots are brought to us by Dominique Ansel. And, if that name sounds familiar, it’s the same pastry chef behind the mile-long-line-forming Cronut.

The yummy shots are actual cookies — baked and shaped to help contain a shot of milk. They’re debuting at SXSW, because of course they are.

Although, there’s been no mention of the Cookie Shots making their way back to NYC to sell at Ansel’s bakery — there should be a line of hipsters forming  there shortly. Just in case.

Mathematical Cookies by Vi Hart

math-cookies-vi-hart

Our favorite mathematician and burrito enthusiast, Vi Hart, is back and she’s baking cookies. Taking a much needed break from math conferences and euclidian algorithms, Vi decided to get together with friends and bake.

However, the day-off quickly turns into an exercise in geometrical patterns and Brunnian links — therefore math is heavily involved, day-off thwarted. Please watch this…

Star Wars Stormtrooper KitchenAid Stand Mixer

Believe it or not… There was a time when the coveted KitchenAid Stand Mixer only came in white. So, when one of these boring old mixers gets old and is in need of some flair — turning it into a Stormtrooper KitchenAid Stand Mixer seems like a logical choice.

Brought to us by The Kim Six Fix, her 15-yr-old KitchenAid recently got a facelift, Star Wars-style. Adding a few Star Wars-themed graphics, the mixer is highlighted by a Stormtrooper head on top. And, if this mixer seems a little short for a Stormtrooper, you can always try Boba Fett.

Baked Goods As Fine Art, A Fundraising Project By Britain’s Art Fund

baked-goods-as-art-1

Now, this is a bake sale that we can get on board with. The Art Fund, a British fundraising charity for art, has come up with a creative way to encourage bakers and food artists to get involved for a good cause.

Edible Masterpieces urges bakers to not only create yummy treats to help raise money for UK museums and galleries, but to pay homage to some fine art in the process.

To get it started, the Art Fund recruited artists Georgia Levy, Kim Morphew, and Lydia Brun. The result — a Pollock Rice Krispies Treat, Mondrian Cake and an edible Van Gogh. Find out more about the project here.
