Art History Doesn’t Have To Suck With These Lollipops

art-history

Anyone who’s sat through an art history class, can tell you that they more or less suck. So, these Art History Lollipops make perfect sense.

Brought to us by LIQNYC, the six handmade lollies are made with pure cane sugar, and come in cherry or cotton candy flavor. View the Mona Lisa, American Gothic, Starry Night and others in between licks.

Bring a few for your art history professor, and perhaps they’ll let you go home early. Find out more here.

Paintings of Celebrities On Sandwiches For Some Reason

celebs-on-sandwiches

Most celebrities strive to have a sandwich named after them. So, a painting series of famous people posing with various sandwiches makes perfect sense.

Celebs on Sandwiches is the series nobody asked for, but it’s now out there, and we cannot look away. From Ellen DeGeneres on a grilled veggie wrap and Taylor Swift on a fried chicken sandwich, to Bernie Sanders on a meatball sub and Aziz Ansari on a turkey panini.

The watercolor paintings, by L.A.-based artist Jeff McCarthy, are available for sale, and are now the new measure of fame.

When All Traces of Gluten Are Removed From Famous Works of Art

gluten-free-museum-2

Imagine if gluten-intolerance spread to the art world… it might look something like these before and afters.

Brought to us by the Tumblr site, Gluten-Free Museum, famous works of art and pop-culture images are stripped of any wheat, barley and rye. The result… art that’s a bit more tolerable for the gluten-averse. Finally, something else for them to talk about.

Do Not Eat These Meals On Plates Because They’re Paintings

plate-lady

Artist Jacqueline Poirier, akathe crazy plate lady, is certainly crazy about plates. Especially when it comes to painting realistic meals on them and making us hungry.

Please do not try to eat them, because the meals are, after all, ceramic and paint… yuk! However it is pretty awesome art.., yum! See more of Poirier’s work below and over at Instagram.

Classic Paintings Recreated With Food

Famous-Paintings-Recreated-with-Food-3

Here at Foodiggity, playing with your food is certainly encouraged — especially when it’s used to recreate famous works of art.

Russian food stylist and photographer Tatiana Shkondina is the kind of food-player we like. She creates her own works of food art with famous paintings as her inspiration.

Van Gogh’s Starry Night is recreated deliciously with blueberries and dark rice, while the symmetry of Mondrian is displayed in watermelon, cheese, and yogurt. See more below.
