Fruit Labels That Will Help Clean Your Produce

 

Someone has finally found a practical use for those little fruit labels on our produce — besides to peel off and stick on the refrigerator. Vanishing Fruitwash Labels, by Amron Experimental, turn into a produce-cleaning soap when rubbed with water — helping to remove wax, pesticides, dirt and bacteria found on our apples and pears.

For our premiere issue of Salt of the Earth, I sat down with Gary and Katy Rupert of Three Meadows Farm in Somerset County, New Jersey. I found out what goes into maintaining their mostly organic and self-sustaining farm.
