Guy Fieri Didn’t Buy the Full Domain Name for His Times Square Restaurant, So This Happened

Remember, kids… If you happen to be opening a restaurant in one of the most heavily touristed spots in the world, and you’re also a very easy target for ridicule — it might be a good idea to lock up all versions of the domain name.

On a completely related note, Guy Fieri opened up a place in Times Square, and is himself a walking parody. So with the domain guysamericankitchenandbar.com still available, Bryan Mytko pounced, and created an appropriate parody site.

Probably not far off from the actual menu, visitors are made to think that they could enjoy such culinary delights as, Guy’s Big Balls, Honky-Tonky Double Barrel Meat Loaded Blast, and The ‘Hobo Lobo Bordello Slam Jam’ Appetizer. We’re not sure if anyone looking to visit the actual restaurant would know the difference — but for those in the know, check it out.

Snap Into Some Slim Jim Meatballs

George Duran of the Hungry channel is at it again — using a particular food item somewhere it doesn’t belong. Or, does it? Slim Jim Meatballs are on the menu, which sees our host grinding up a few of the snappy spice sticks, mixing them with some standard meatball ingredients, and handing them out to innocent bystanders in NYC. The consensus… Indifference.

The BBBBQ: The Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival

An actual BBBBQ is upon us… The Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival 2012 continues, and hits New York City on January 28. With 60 beers, 40 bourbons, and plenty of pork products and other Southern fare to sample, it’s fun for all. Tickets are still available.

Foodiggity will be well-represented there, and might even have a few tickets to give away shortly. Stay tuned, and hopefully we’ll see you there — I’ll be the one eating pork.

Do you love pizza? Maybe a little too much? Pizza Is My Lover, the new 2012 calendar from L’asso in New York City, can help feed your lust for pizza all year. Pizza becomes pin-up, with suggestive monthly photos by photographer Ashley Macknica. And for the hardcore fans, there’s even a centerfold. Just try not to get grease all over it.

Candy Corn Bagels Exist

Just in time for Halloween, and some sort of bagel apocalypse we weren’t aware of, someone found a use for candy corns and put them in a bagel. The Candy Corn Bagel is the creation of the Bagel Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

And yes, the recipe includes actual candy corns — giving the near donut its signature fluorescent orange hue, and the inevitable regret felt after eating one.
