A Short Film Series That Imagines What The Last Meals of Famous People Might’ve Looked Like

The last meals of famous death row inmates is well-documented. But what was the last thing ingested by deceased celebrities and historical figures?

Filmmaker Gus Filgate created Last Supper to help us find out. The short film series takes us on a wild ride of food preparation and trippy soundtracks, while trying to imagine the last meals of famous people.

So far, we’ve seen Julius Caesar’s assumed last meal of mussels, shrimp and mutton, Jimi Hendrix’s tuna sandwich, and Napoleon’s steak and eggs. You can follow the ongoing series here.

No surprise that Elvis is way up high to the left. Also nice to see that Cleopatra was a fan.

Last meals… Everyone gives it some thought at one time or another. But when it doesn’t result in an oversized coffee book, the subject often leads to an over-thought and overanalyzed example of the person’s own pretentiousness.

But what if plans for a last meal were a reality? All you’d have to do is off someone in the wrong state, and you’ll surely get a few years to think about it.
