Oedipus, Starring Vegetables

February 11, 2011 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

Oedipus — the ancient tale of child abandonment, parent murder and incest, has been retold starring vegetables. As silly as the concept might sound, the stop-motion animation is shot brilliantly using classic CinemaScope and is quite beautiful. With a story that would’ve surely took Hollywood 4-plus hours to tell, Veggie Oedipus wraps up in around 8 minutes.

WARNING: The following video contains violence against produce and is possibly NSFW due to its incestuous veggie-on-veggie love. And I hope that I’m not spoiling the ending by mentioning that it does not end well. Enjoy.
