Star Wars, The Battle of Yavin in Jello

Forty years ago today, a movie was released that would change cinema and pop culture forever. It was also around this time that it was still acceptable to suspend stuff inside Jell-O.

So, the Star Wars Battle of Yavin in Gelatin makes perfect sense. Brought to us by Jenn Fujikawa of Just Jenn Recipes, the battle scene is made possible with gelatin, the proper molds, and a bundt cake pan. The best part, is that the X-wings, Tie Fighters and Death Star are all made from gelatin too.

Happy Birthday, Star Wars.

The World’s Most Expensive Jell-O Robot

To help promote the Sony Xperia mobile phone, and inspired by director Wes Anderson’s Made of Imagination ads, jelly robots were hidden around the UK. But these are no ordinary jiggly bots. They were created by Bompas & Parr, and stuffed with bling.

Besides being made of super-expensive jelly, the ‘Xperiabots’ contained luxuries such as golden cogs, white truffle valves, and gemstones for eyes. Once the jelly set, the robots were worth around £6000, and whoever found them, got to keep them.

Coffee Jelly Will Help Start Your Day Off Jiggly

When in its standard-issue grape or strawberry flavor, jelly is usually nothing more than a gelatinous Garfunkel to a peanut butter Simon. Coffee Jelly looks to change all of that, and needs to harmonize with no one. Brought to us by Instructables, the rather simple recipe can be the first step to having a completely gelatinous breakfast. Now someone just needs to come up with Bacon and Eggs Jelly.

It’s actually been described as having a slightly bittersweet “caramel-ly” taste that complements vanilla ice cream, or makes a great marinade. The technique can be found here.
