Have Your Burger Delivered at 87 MPH

ku-xlarge

You want a burger and you want it right gosh darn now. C One Espresso Cafe in New Zealand knows that burger-eaters are impatient, so they’ll deliver your burger as fast as humanly possible — which is around 87 miles per hour.

The restaurant, already equipped with pneumatic tubes to deliver order slips to the kitchen, decided it would be a neat idea to deliver your actual order the same way. Placed in a metal canister, lunch will be on the way before you know it.

Check out a video on the fast food here.

How To Order a Pizza with a Computer in 1974

pizz-computer-1974

Even in 1974, our laziness and yearning for pizza knew no bounds. So, for the first “high-tech sociolinguistic experiment” of its kind, computer scientists Jerome (J.J.) Jackson and John Eulenberg of Michigan State University’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory developed a system for ordering a pizza with a computer.

Using type-to-speech conversion, a phone hooked up to an old-school modem attempted its first order with Domino’s. Lucky for our scientists, Domino’s lost patience for the robot voice and long awkward pauses, and hung up. Eventually, Mr. Mike’s Pizza took the order for a 16″ pie with mushrooms, pepperoni, ham, and sausage. Success!!

The Burrito Bomber Will Drop Off Your Lunch

Pretty soon, we may not have to wait on that ridiculous line at Chipotle for a burrito — or even have to leave the spot that we’re currently standing in for that matter. The makers of the Burrito Bomber have developed a delivery system that takes to the skies, and will drop off your lunch wherever you are.

Using the body of a SkyWalker X8 Flying Wing, the Ardupilot flying system, and a Quantum RTR Bomb System — Darwin Aerospace has developed the Bomber to carry and distribute its precious cargo to a location provided via your smartphone.

Although this sort of food delivery system is currently illegal — thanks to certain restrictions by the FAA — it could become a reality in a few years. So, start clearing out the trees in front of the house, and practice your burrito catching skills.

Pizza at the Push of a Button

Want pizza? Push button. This bluetooth-enabled fridge magnet knows that you want your pizza, want it now, and with limited social interaction. A simple press, and your order is placed via the internet — or magic, I’m still not sure.

Although the VIP Fridge Magnet is the creation of a pizza place in Dubai — perhaps they’ll deliver to wherever you are if you push the button enough times.
