Foods of ’30 Rock’ Poster

November 4, 2013 by Chris Durso

30-rock-food

Liz Lemon of 30 Rock was quite the food enthusiast. So much so, that food and food-related themes provided some of the finer moments of the show. Enter, Foods of 30 Rock, an illustrated poster print by Etsy member roaringsoftly.

Some of our favorite 30 Rock food moments are there — including Night Cheese, Sabor de Soledad, and the infamous Teamster Sandwich. Now, somebody bring me some haaaaaammmm!!!

Is Tracy Jordan Responsible for the KFC Double Down?

April 27, 2010 by Chris Durso

In this episode of 30 Rock from Season 1 — while trying to promote his invention, The Meat Machine — Tracy Jordan may have unintentionally given KFC the idea for The KFC Double Down.

The Meat Machine’s slogan ‘Meat is the New Bread’ appears to come directly out of the Double Down’s own marketing strategy. However this episode of 30 Rock precedes KFC’s campaign by a good 3 years.

KFC even adopted the Dr. Spaceman theory that choosing more meat over bread was a healthier option. Perhaps KFC has a few graduates of Ho Chi Minh City School of Medicine on the payroll as well.

The Liz Lemon Diet

February 8, 2010 by Chris Durso

It’s something that we’ve suspected all along… Diets do not work. However, what we learn from this episode of 30 Rock is that it goes much deeper than that, and is infinitely more depressing.

Without the comfort of the foods we love, we are repressing emotions that will manifest in new and usually frightening ways.

We also learn that Liz Lemon would be even hotter as a blonde with fluorescent green eyes.

The 30 Rock Sandwich | Fiore’s Deli

January 14, 2010 by Chris Durso

The infamous ’30 Rock Sandwich.’ After this episode aired, the origin of the sandwich had been shrouded in mystery. Did it actually exist? Where? Who? How do I get one just like Liz Lemon did? Long rumored to originate from Brooklyn, it was finally revealed by an inside source, that it hailed from none other than Hoboken, NJ — Foodiggity’s neck of the woods.

As part of his 93 Plates project, ‘The Wandering Foodie’ Hagan Blount and I were heading into Hoboken, and we had Fiore’s Roast Beef Special on the brain. Today is our Sandwich Day… God bless us indeed!
