Pizzeria Disgusto, A Punny Illustration Book of Italian Cuisine

Artist Michael Hacker has created a book of illustrations, celebrating Italian cuisine and creative wordplay. Pizzeria Disgusto is filled with delicious pizza, pasta and other Italian fare — only in anthropomorphic form and renamed appropriately.

Whether it’s E.T. made from spaghetti and renamed Spagh E.T., or a box of head-banging pizza called Moshpizza — the project is often reminiscent of the puns and gross-out humor of Wacky Packages.

Pizzeria Gusto is currently in Kickstarter phase, with lots of goodies available for funders. Check it out here.

Did you know that ‘cannolo’ is the singular form of ‘cannoli’? As in.. Someone was crazy enough to stuff a giant cannolo with 50 standard cannoli?

Aptly-titled, The Bazooka, this behemoth pastry is brought to us by Pasticceria Caruso in Sydney Australia. They kindly ask that you leave the gun, take the bazooka.

Italian Grandmas Try Olive Garden For The First Time… It Does Not Go Well

grandmas-olive-garden

There are two kinds of people… Those who eat at Olive Garden, and Italians. However, the latter has the advantage of years of intensive tomato-based sauce and pasta training by an Italian grandma.

Buzzfeed, knowing that Italian grandmas have very particular palates and no inner monologue, sat a few of them down to try some of The Garden’s signature “dishes.”

The result is what you might expect. Except for one pair of grandmas, who seemed to enjoy everything. Although their accents are a little suspect. Please enjoy…

The Meatball Sandwich With Spaghetti Bun Looks Convenient

If you love spaghetti and meatballs, but are sick of the monotonous fork-twirling and meatballs rolling off your plate, there’s now a convenient solution.

The Spaghetti Meatballwich is the awesomely-named food hybrid by The Carving Board in Los Angeles, that’ll make your Italian meal much easier to deal with. The sandwich is made possible by shaping spaghetti into buns, and using said spaghetti to house its meatball innards. No twirling required.

Italian Food As Chairs

The only thing better than sitting down for a good Italian meal, would be if we could sit on a good Italian meal.

Artist Haris Jusovic teases this concept, rendering some traditional Italian food items as chairs. Imagine sitting on a crispy fried egg for breakfast. Lunch would have you sitting back on a gooey pizza chair.

Now we just need a gnocchi pillow for our post-meal nap.
