The Meals of Olympic Athletes Recreated in Photo Series

July 31, 2012 by Chris Durso

Female 100m Sprinter

Olympic athletes might look and feel better than you do — but according to this photo series by stylist Sarah Parker and photographer Michael Bodiam, they probably don’t eat better. The series shows a typical meal for athletes, as suggested by Olympian nutritionist Dan Benardot, recreated with its components meticulously separated and arranged.

Although servings usually exceed two thousand calories — the “food for fuel” regimen keeps the meals pretty strict and relatively bland. So, enjoy your burgers and nachos tonight while you watch our athletes burning off all of that dry toast, and whatever that green stuff is.
