The Kraken Edible Autopsy

October 21, 2013 by Chris Durso

We recently reported on the remnants of a kraken that washed ashore in the UK. To investigate this mysterious beast further, Miss Cakehead teamed up with Kraken Rum again, for the Kraken Rum Edible Autopsy.

Aboard the Kraken Hunting sea vessel X-Pilot, various parts of the sea beast were brought aboard — all edible, and ready to be investigated and ingested. The goodies included a giant kraken eye cake filled with rum, Kraken cysts (black pickled onions), eye pupils (black eggs), and a kraken mouth with over 200 teeth made from white chocolate.

Edible kraken parts will also make an appearance at Eat Your Heart Out’s Feed the Beast — October 25-27th at The Rag Factory 16-18 Heneage Street, in London, England.

The Greatest Life-Sized Unicorn Cake That You’ll See Today

October 16, 2013 by Chris Durso

Unicorns apparently do not exist. But if they did, they’d be about the size of this Life-Sized Unicorn Cake by Miss Cakehead and The Tattooed Bakers.

The attention to detail is rather impressive. Considering that an actual unicorn, from what we’re led to believe, would also be filled with delicious rainbows. So they pretty much nailed it.

The delicious uni was only part of entire landscape created for Baketopia in London — since eaten.

Life-Size Dexter Cake

July 2, 2013 by Chris Durso

Dexter recently began its final season. And to help celebrate eight years of serial killing, Miss Cakehead and Annabel de Vetten of Conjurer’s Kitchen created a life-size version of Dexter himself. They even recreated a “kill room” for effect, then repeatedly sliced up and served the title character. Good times.
