Horror Happy Meals Even Come With A Scary Prize

stranger-things

It’s almost Halloween, so there’s no place for Happy Meals, or anything too cheerful. These horror-inspired Happy Meals, by Newt Cloninger-Clements, are scary horror movie and television-inspired versions of the McDonald’s boxed lunch.

Just like a traditional Happy Meal, these horror versions come with a free prize, only scarier. Stranger Things fans would receive a demogorgon, while The Walking Dead comes with a scary Carol doll. No mention how frightening the actual meal inside is — however, it is still McDonald’s, so be afraid.

McDonald’s Pumpkin Spice French Fries Because Japan

pumpkin-spice-fries
McDonald’s Japan wants in on the pumpkin spice madness, and they’ll apparently do it at any cost. Enter, Pumpkin Spice French Fries.

The Halloween Choco Potato is the latest reason why we should consider cancelling fall. It’s standard Mickey D French Fries, but with the added horror of chocolate and orange pumpkin sauce.

But, why stop there? Throw some candy corns on there and wash it down with a PSL… considering this may be our last fall.

Ribby McRibface Is A Worthy Alternative to McDonald’s McRib Sandwich

The McDonald’s McRib will soon rear its ugly sauce-laden head, to remind us of the bad choices that we made as children. Now that we’re adults, we have to wonder why a better and less horrifying version of the McRib hasn’t been created. The Food Lab’s J. Kenji López-Alt is on it.

The Ribby McRibface is the adult version of the McRib that we’ve secretly pined for. López-Alt, fueled by nostalgia and mad culinary skills, creates a gourmet version of the BBQ pork sandwich using actual ribs. Spoiler… the McRib does not.

Then, not content with his sandwich’s “McRibbiness,” López-Alt creates a second version with actual ground pork… something else the McRib probably never did. Recipe and technique here.

Big Mac vs. Sulfuric Acid, Everyone Loses

big-mac-vs-sulfuric-acid

A McDonald’s Big Mac isn’t the easiest food item to digest. And, apparently, sulfuric acid doesn’t fare much better against this worthy opponent.

Thanks to Let’s Melt This, we can now see what happens when a virtually indestructible food item meets a powerful corrosive. Although, we’d expect a little more damage inflicted — the Big Mac only loses some of its integrity and color.

Let’s call this one a draw… a disgusting, stomach-churning draw.
