There’s a Prince-Inspired Cookbook For All of Your Purple Baking Needs

January 29, 2018 by Chris Durso

To our knowledge, Prince didn’t bake. However, we imagine that if he’d ever tried, Prince would win every baking contest, while quietly taunting his opponents.

So, to honor Prince’s baking potential, there’s Little Red Velvette, The Prince Inspired Cookbook by Cat Food Cakes. Of course, there’s a Purple Rain Cake, as well as the Most Beautiful Swirl in the World, and Breakfast Can Wait.

The cookbook is available for pre-order at Belly Kids. So break out your finest doilies and purple cake plates.

A Condom Cookbook Exists

September 23, 2014 by Chris Durso

To raise condom awareness in Japan, and help make your meals a bit more phallic, there’s Condom Meals I Want to Make for You.

The cookbook, brought to us by Japanese authors Kyosuke Kagami and Opanpon, uses condoms as a cooking vessel — thankfully not as an actual ingredient.

Simply slide your ingredients into a prophylactic, and you’ll start making your dinner guests uncomfortable in no time. But at least you know they’ll be encouraged to practice safe sex in your coat closet.

A Cookbook That Will Help Light A Fire, Sharpen Knives, and Serve The Meal

May 7, 2014 by Chris Durso

bbq-bible-hed-2014

There was once a time when a cookbook was measured by the quality of recipes, the food styling, and the celebrity’s mug on the cover.

Now, with the recent development that is The Bible of Barbecue — every other cookbook is now inferior and should stop. Although it’s far from a traditional cookbook, containing no actual recipes, the BBQ bible will help produce a meal better than any celebrity-laden pile of pages.

Specific to preparing a grilled meal, the Bible comes apart at each stage of the cooking process. Beginning with a page that’s literally made from charcoal, it can be broken up to get the fire started. Page two is a fire starter, followed by a flame-fanner.

Progressing to chapter-two reveals an apron, foil, chopping board, and a page to sharpen your knives on. So, how does it end? With a page that’s a placemat, another that’s a serving tray, and a kitchen cloth.

The Biblia Definitiva Do Churrasco was created by Tramontina and JWT Brazil. It’s been made in limited quantities and offered to only a few “master barbecue chefs.” A simplified version will be available for the average backyard BBQer soon.
