The Leaning Tower of Coffee Cups

December 1, 2015 by Chris Durso

We’ve certainly seen our share of coffee cup art. However, this appears to be the first time that coffee cup doodles have been inspired by architecture.

Artist Mark Poulier, specializing in classic architecture illustration, created The Leaning Tower of Coffee Cups. Intricately detailed, stacked and leaned appropriately — the tower looks just like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Please do not pose as if holding it up, tourist.

Turn A Coffee Cup Into A Beer Koozie With The Lolo Lid

September 11, 2015 by Chris Durso

Do you enjoy drinking in public or at work, but the man is keeping you down? Lolo Lids are here to help.

Fortunately, public coffee drinking is not yet frowned upon, so a Lolo Lid will turn almost any large coffee cup into a way of drinking your adult beverage all sneaky-like.

Simply snap a beer can onto the lid, place the lid atop the disposable coffee cup of your choice, and no one will be the wiser. That is unless, you have too many “coffees” at your office meeting, and start slurring through your PowerPoint presentation.

Lolo Lids are currently in Kickstarter phase, and you can learn more about the project here.

Coffee Cups Reimagined As Pop Culture Characters

May 27, 2015 by Chris Durso

Few things could make our morning coffee any more awesome. That is unless our drinking vessels looked like Iron Man or Woody from Toy Story.

Artist Jacob Parr wants to help make coffee even awesomer, with There’s a Capp For That. The illustration series explores the idea that most pop culture characters are easily recognizable in any form. And, that the viewer would embrace any idea that had to do with coffee.

See more of the series below and over at Parr’s Behance site.

Panoramic Coffee Cup Art

May 14, 2015 by Chris Durso

We’ve certainly seen our share of coffee cup art. The often stark white drinking vessels have become a blank canvas for brilliant typography, comic strips, and have even gone 3-D.

Tokyo-based artist Adrian Hogan is now taking the medium panoramic, with an Instagram video series. Hogan illustrates a scene on a cup, then takes us through his surroundings with a slow twist. Check out more below and over at Instagram.

KFC Releases Edible Coffee Cups, Inexplicably Not Made Of Fried Chicken

February 25, 2015 by Chris Durso

KFC UK figures that your coffee-drinking experience doesn’t need to end, just because your cup is empty. Therefore, Edible KFC Coffee Cups are now a thing.

Unfortunately, these ingestible drinking vessels, officially called ‘Scoffee cups,’ are not made of fried chicken. The cups with the cringe-inducing name are actually a base of cookie, wrapped in sugar paper, and lined with a layer of glorious white chocolate.

So, to the average onlooker, it appears to be a regular ol’ coffee cup. That is until the coffee is gone and you start chowing down. No mention if an edible KFC Bucket is in the works. Now we wait.
