Food Used To Finish Beautiful Pencil Illustrations by Diego Cusano

Italian artist, songwriter, and “fantasy researcher,” Diego Cusano, knows how to finish his art deliciously. Diego begins with beautiful pencil illustrations of pop culture characters, animals, and everyday objects — finishing the pieces with various food items.

The addition of edibles, besides a creative use of mixed medium, becomes the drawing’s only introduction of color. This juxtaposition of colored food and black and white illustration then gives the drawings two distinct parts, while also bringing everything together to complete a whole.

The use of food also adds an ephemeral quality, by giving the art a shelf life. Thankfully, Diego’s art lives on in photos, and in a book of his work, Food Art and Fantasy.

The Leaning Tower of Coffee Cups

coffee-pisa

We’ve certainly seen our share of coffee cup art. However, this appears to be the first time that coffee cup doodles have been inspired by architecture.

Artist Mark Poulier, specializing in classic architecture illustration, created The Leaning Tower of Coffee Cups. Intricately detailed, stacked and leaned appropriately — the tower looks just like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Please do not pose as if holding it up, tourist.

This Is The World’s Longest Pizza

What at first glance appears to be the world’s cheesiest slip-and-slide, is actually The World’s Longest Pizza.

Created for the 2015 World Fair in Milan, Italy, the pizza measured 1,595.45-meters, or 5233 feet — finishing just short of a mile, because Italians don’t care about silly American units of measurement.

And, since it took longer than 30-minutes to deliver — actually about 18 hours — it was free to all participants of the fair and donated to a local food bank.

Leaning Tower of Pasta

If you’d like a fun, gravity-defying way to store your spaghetti — The Leaning Tower of Pasta is here to help.

Made to look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, not only will the large ceramic vessel store your long pastas, but the cork top has a measuring device to help ration out the perfect portions.

Have some friends over for pasta night, and they won’t be able to resist acting like tourists, while they pretend to hold up your pasta tower. That should be fun for about three minutes. Check it out here.
