Kraft Store Kiosk Creepily Scans Your Face And Then Recommends Dinner

January 19, 2011 by Chris Durso

What’s for dinner? That question is asked by uncreative and lazy individuals every night, with the answer usually coming in take-out menu form. However Kraft, now equipped with Minority Report-type scanning technology, will help make the uninspired decision for you.

Part of Intel’s ‘Connected Store‘, a potential customer without dinner plans can pass by the Kraft kiosk, and the digital signage, equipped with Anonymous Video Analytics technology, zooms in on his or her face to determine gender and age group, then guesses what products might interest them.

This appears to be the type of unnecessary technology that most have been waiting for. But can’t we assume that whether you’re a working mom, college co-ed, or have a lazy face — the answer will always be Mac & Cheese?
