What Can We Expect To Learn From Top Chef University?

Don’t cash in your 401k to attend culinary school just yet. Top Chef is looking to expand on their product-placing empire with Top Chef University—an online culinary school.

According to their official press release:

Top Chef University, perfect for everyone from experienced foodies to the home cook, is a fraction of the cost of traditional culinary school and provides access to virtual courses 24/7.

Here at foodiggity, we were curious about what this TCU had to offer. As the concept of TCU is based on a game show, we wanted to focus on the personalities involved. So we looked over the former chef’testants turned ‘instructors’ and took a guess of what we can expect to learn for $24.95 a month.

A Dose of Ephemera | Goober Grape

Since it unfortunately still exists, Goober Grape is technically not ephemera. But since it is a memory that has been voluntarily suppressed by most people, we’ll suspend disbelief and pretend that the lazy man’s PB & J hasn’t inexplicably survived for four decades.

Introduced by Smucker’s in 1968, Goober Grape is an evil little product that caters to those who may only own one knife, by placing peanut butter and jelly in the same jar. And of course, there is a Facebook Fan page. Does anyone else have parents who tortured them with this?

A Dose of Ephemera, Quisp Cereal

Originally released in 1965, Quisp was your typical kiddie-crack in corn cereal form. The cereal was named after its mascot, Quisp the Alien — a lovable, propeller-headed goofball with a severe speech impediment.

Quisp was discontinued in the late 70’s, but was reborn the following decade with limited distribution, and has since become an internet sensation.

Not long after this article was originally written, Quisp started showing up in limited release throughout the U.S. Are were you more of a Quake person?
