A Dose of Ephemera, Quisp Cereal

Originally released in 1965, Quisp was your typical kiddie-crack in corn cereal form. The cereal was named after its mascot, Quisp the Alien — a lovable, propeller-headed goofball with a severe speech impediment.

Quisp was discontinued in the late 70’s, but was reborn the following decade with limited distribution, and has since become an internet sensation.

Not long after this article was originally written, Quisp started showing up in limited release throughout the U.S. Are were you more of a Quake person?

  1. You may have thought this Classic Cereal is long gone – but keep looking! I have found a reliable source of supply at http://www.BellaMiaCandy.com

The price is a little bit above the retail grocery shelf – but if you can’t find any in your area, then this site is a great Plan “B”

Hey – a little bit of sugar never hurt anyone!
