The Outerlands in San Francisco, CA describes itself as ‘A gathering place for sea goers who seek warmth.’ After perusing their website, it should read ‘The restaurant website that all other restaurant websites should take notice of and stop sucking.’
Clean, simple and elegant—with food photography that would make screen-licking acceptable.

Agreed. Flash-based websites of any kind still pose a problem for those on-the-go. This is especially true of restaurant sites. Awesome comment, thanks.
The problem is that if I’m on my iPhone all I get is a blue lego. In fact on my phone browsers it can’t be viewed at all because of its reliance on Adobe Flash. When I’m out and about or in a new city looking for a place to eat I’m usually going to do it on my phone. I’d much rather look at the restaurant’s website than rely on Yelp or Urbanspoon but it seems every restaurant website wants a cool looking website that looks great on a desktop but is virtually useless at getting the website to do what it is supposed to do, help me decide to eat there when I’m hungry!
