This Could Be The New World’s Hottest Chili Pepper

July 24, 2017 by Chris Durso

We’ve been over this before. A chili pepper is produced that’s weapons-grade and shouldn’t be ingested. So, someone else comes up with another hotter, more deadly pepper, and so on and so forth.

Now, we may have a new king of the killer chilis, and it’s called… wait for it… Dragon’s Breath. The pepper was developed by Wales-based hobby grower, Mike Smith, and could potentially dethrone the Carolina Reaper as the world’s hottest pepper.

Dragon’s Breath has supposedly surpassed 2.4 million on the Scoville scale, and could potentially kill a human if ingested. So, the only logical explanation for the pepper’s existence is for anesthetic use. The oils from Dragon’s Breath are so powerful, that they can numb the skin on contact.

Guinness has yet to confirm Dragon’s Breath as the official ‘World’s Hottest,’ but stay tuned.

The Spiciest Tortilla Chip In The World Is Sold One Chip Per Package

September 22, 2016 by Chris Durso

spiciest-chip

You may be wondering why someone would come up with packaging and marketing for one tortilla chip. Well, this particular chip, Carolina Reaper Madness, is made with the hottest pepper known to man. So, the choice to only offer it individually, is probably to keep you from dying.

As the name implies, the lone chip is made using the hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper. The chip comes packaged in its own triangle foil and a small coffin — which seems reassuring.

Paqui, the maker of the Reaper, is even trying to taunt would-be “spice-heads,” by offering the One Chip Challenge. Let us know if you try one.

Hand me the pepper… That’ll be the running dinner table joke, with Handy Salt and Pepper Mills.

The beechwood grinders include posable wooden artist’s hands on top, so you can use it to get a grip on your salt and pepper. Or, you can position one if the fingers to let the host know what you thought of the meal.

The Sergeant Pepper Mill

July 23, 2012 by Chris Durso

It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper helped make your food less bland… la, la, la, something, something. Anyway, The Sergeant Pepper Mill is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest albums of all time — providing a high-quality beechwood pepper grinder, painted to look like a mustachioed Beatle.

Grab one to go with your Mean Mr. Mustard Bottle and Glass Onion Peeler*.

Grow Your Own World’s Hottest Pepper

November 30, 2011 by Chris Durso

Even though its title as the world’s hottest pepper has recently been disputed — you can now plant, grow, and nurture the Naga Jolokia (Ghost Chili) from the comfort of your own home.

And popping open the DIY planting kit is literally opening a can of whoopass. Water it and talk to it enough, and your new little sproutling will pack over one-million SHU’s — which is akin to licking the sun.
