As part of his ‘Brand-Reversioning‘ project, designer Graham Smith gave a few famous brands a makeover. In most cases, the new logos actually draw inspiration from their closest competitor. Fast food worlds collide when McDonald’s ‘borrows’ from Burger King.

McDonald’s Canada Accepts Monopoly Money
To celebrate the recent McDonald’s Monopoly promotion, McDonald’s Canada was accepting Monopoly money as currency. Although the multi-colored toy bills were not accepted at face value, i.e., a Monopoly hundred could not buy 100 items off the dollar menu, the toy bill could be exchanged for a large fries.
Although this concept is marketing brilliance, it’s not too far removed from Canada’s everyday exchange. Last time I was in Montreal, my $10 bill was pink and had a goose on it… and it was only good for a small fries.

McDonald’s Dipping McNugget Elevators
Installed recently in Shanghai’s busiest mall are the Dipping McNuggets Elevators. Another clever use of oversized novelty advertising, ad agency Leo Burnett China almost made me consider having a McNugget.
