Burnt Texas Toast by Eric Barclay

June 27, 2013 by Chris Durso

barclay-toaster

Artist and friend of Foodiggity Eric Barclay’s toaster broke. So he went ahead and did what he does best, and repurposed an everyday item in the name of art.

Burnt Texas Toast began as the aforementioned toaster that no longer works and, inspired by Milton the Talking Toaster, was upcycled into awesomeness.

See more works from Eric, and one of our most popular posts ever here.

Transforming a Coke Bottle Into Art by Eric Barclay

February 21, 2012 by Chris Durso

Covered here before at Foodiggity, Eric Barclay uses his signature style to repurpose packaging into beautiful and playful works of art. His latest work tells the story of Ranjit and Indira, using matte acrylic and utilizing the contours of the package — in this case, a 2-liter Coke bottle.

Ranjit and his elephant Indira
Carried the orphans through tiger country
And the tiger through people country
As they journeyed to the Valley
Of Never Ending Happiness

Hand-Painted Food Packaging by Eric Barclay

October 18, 2011 by Chris Durso

Artist Eric Barclay takes ordinary food packaging, and breathes life into them with some hand painting. Whether a Coffee-Mate container, or Diet Coke can, Barclay creates three-dimensional versions of his unmistakable characters. He even finds a use for French’s Mustard — impressive.
