Clear Pumpkin Pie Looks Delicious, Science-y

November 1, 2017 by Chris Durso

The clear choice for pie of the year is the Clear Pumpkin Pie. Brought to us by Pastry chef, Simon Davies, of Chicago-based restaurant, Alinea — the pie is made possible with creative use of molecular gastronomy.

The standard ingredients for pumpkin pie are included, making this pie surprisingly traditional — besides the see-through part.

The Hand Cookie Cutter Is A Utensil You Can Count On

October 4, 2017 by Chris Durso

Need a hand in the kitchen? Or, perhaps you’d like to give a few cookie-eaters a thumbs-up? The Hand Cookie Cutter is here to help.

Simply stamp out a hand in cookie dough, arrange the fingers however you’d like, and bake them up. In mere minutes, you’ll be able to give out yummy peace signs, thumbs-up, or OKs.

Or, send a passive-aggressive message with a delicious middle finger. Available for pre-order at The Foodiggity Shop.

These Mathematical Cakes Equal Awesome

September 6, 2017 by Chris Durso

Artist, Dinara Kasko, who we’ve covered previously, is back with even more mind-boggling Mathematical Cakes.

Often collaborating with mathematicians and sculptors, Dinara uses mathematical algorithms as inspiration for her designs. The result… confectionaries that belong on a fancy pedestal in a museum. The best part, is that the cake’s insides are just as beautiful.

See more below and over at Instagram.

This Operation Cake Looks Shockingly Delicious

August 11, 2017 by Chris Durso

Watch where you’re sticking that fork… this Operation Cake is fully-operational.

Created by Ann Reardon from How to Cook That, the dessert not only looks just like the vintage board game, but it’s rigged to buzz if you don’t have a steady hand.

I’ll take a slice of funny bone, please.

If you’re looking for something to do with your hands, and you like cookies, an Oreo Fidget Spinner may be just the thing.

Brought to us by Pop Sugar, the spinner is not only fully-functional and easily-dunkable, but the recipe is also vegan… Because non-meat-eaters deserve cookie toys too.
