How To Make Carol’s Beet and Acorn Cookies From The Walking Dead

May 25, 2017 by Chris Durso

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, then you know that food and happiness are in short supply. So, when despite the surrounding apocalypse, Carol manages to make cookies out of beets and acorns — they’re going to be the best damn root vegetable cookies ever.

Andrew Rea, of Baking with Babish, is here to show us how to make our own. Although it takes several tries, and neither cookie seems to pass any sort of taste test — remember that the alternative in the show would be to eat a large tin of chocolate pudding, or straight-up canned beets. Unless you’re unfortunate enough to get eaten first. Please watch.

I Am Groot Cake

May 12, 2017 by Chris Durso

If we could think of one way to describe this Baby Groot Cake by Zoe’s Fancy Cakes, it would be “I am Groot.” Which of course means “awesome.” According to Guardians of The Galaxy, it also means “hello,” “goodbye,” and “watch me impale these bad guys with my tree arms.”

Nonetheless, see how it’s done below…

Rubik’s Cube Cakes Will Solve Your Hunger

April 3, 2017 by Chris Durso

Dessert doesn’t have to be puzzling… unless it’s actually a puzzle. Rubik’s Cube Cakes are brought to us by pastry chef, Cédric Grolet.

The gourmet cakes are nothing more than small square treats, stacked accordingly to form the vintage toy puzzle. No cheating by removing the cakes, the way you used to do with the stickers… you know who you are.

If you have a young space-enthusiast with a birthday coming up, you might want to check out this awesome Space Cake.

Brought to us by imgur member, Pedagiggle, the cake was created for her four-year-old, Ilyas. The planets are made possible by creating marbled cake spheres first and then embedding them into the final batter.

Get a bit more insight into how she made the Space Cake here.

This Valentine’s Day… Are you going to do the same old box of chocolates and store-bought cards? Or, would you rather harness the ultimate power in the love galaxy, and create the Death Star Valentine’s Pie?

Brought to us by Jessica (@ThePieous) from Pies Are Awesome, the yummy space station is made possible with some creative dough-work and cherry filling. Or, you could pretend it’s filled with the innards of dead Stormtroopers, you know, to spice things up a bit.
