Rather than trying to stretch a 3-minute sketch into an unwatchable feature film, the latest Saturday Night Live spin-off is stretched into an ice cream flavor. Originally meant to poke fun at NPR, Schweddy Balls quickly became one of the most popular SNL sketches of all time — and now it’s a Ben & Jerry’s flavor. “For a long time, I thought that ‘Here Lies Pete Schweddy’ would end up on my tombstone. Now, thanks to Ben & Jerry’s, the goodness of the Schweddy family recipe won’t go with me to the great beyond.
