Movie Mosaics Made From Licorice

September 7, 2011 by Chris Durso

Using a boatload of Red Vines Licorice sticks, artist Jason Mecier creates celebrity portraits and movie scenes. With only two colors to work with, Mecier has so far created pretty spot-on likenesses of Freddy Krueger and the infamous pole-licking scene from Showgirls — which is somewhat less gross now.

Mecier hopes to finish the series, titled Licorice Flix: Edible Movie Mosaics, and exhibit them in LA with help from a Kickstarter campaign. Go fund some twisty art today.
