Imagine visiting Shenandoah Caverns in Virginia, expecting to catch a glimpse of the most fascinating stalagmites, stalactites, and other various rocks. But what is that you see? Perhaps it’s because you skipped breakfast, but you’d swear that the walls are lined with the magical meat candy — bacon.
Known to most laymans as Cave Bacon, the oversized strips are formed when water runs down a limestone cave wall, depositing calcite into delicate draperies… blah, blah, blah… giant bacon!
