M.C. Escher Cookies

If you have a big M.C. Escher party coming up, and will be needing a dessert, then you might consider some M.C. Escher Cookie Rollers. That’s exactly what George Hart was thinking, who holds such an event, and was in need of some cookies. So he went ahead and 3D-printed some cookie rollers to mimic the works of the Dutch artist.

George was also nice enough to provide the templates to print your own rollers, so you can have the most mathematical cookies at the next bake sale.

Wedding Dress Cake

So much planning goes into a wedding. There’s the dress, the cake, the dress cake… Wait, what? Created by the “Fairy Godmother of Wedding Cakes” Donna Millington-Day, the Wedding Dress Cake is beautiful enough to wear on your big day and almost too nice to eat.

The dress cake is made from 17 tiers of sponge cake, 22 kilograms of icing, one kilogram of royal icing and hundreds of sugar pearls. When served it would be enough for about 2000 guests. Hopefully it’s not red velvet inside.

This Is Now The Greatest Bloody Mary Ever

For those keeping score… This is now The Greatest Bloody Mary Ever. Not to be confused with a previous entry that Anvil Pub of Dallas, Texas has just helped relegate to “child’s play.”

If you’re in the Dallas area and have $20 to spare, the best bloody includes the standard tomato juice and vodka — followed by a crawfish, a bacon cheeseburger, a shrimp, cheese, beef jerky, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, green beans, okra, onions, tomatoes, olives, a pickle. And, for good measure, a half pint of beer.

This Japanese Print Ad is Probably for Oranges

2

The best way to advertise for a particular product… Replace all of that boring and time-consuming copy with the item that you’re trying to push. That’s exactly what a Japanese newspaper did, using meticulously dissected and placed orange parts to tell the story — probably about oranges.

The ad is specifically for Mikan Oranges, Japan’s most popular version of the fruit, and was made to help reinforce the product’s availability. Assuming that there were some oranges left afterwards.
