Just when you thought that the U.S. had cornered the market on extravagant tubed meat — DougieDogs of Vancouver recently created the World’s Most Expensive Hot Dog. After one-upping the former champion from Massachusetts, which was priced at $80, the new ‘Dragon Dog’ will set you back $100 Canadian, or about $98.68 USD.
And if you were thinking (as I was) that the hot dog would surely contain nothing more than the finest Canadian bacon and maple syrup — the Dragon Dog justifies its price with a foot-long bratwurst infused with Louis XIII cognac, Kobe beef seared in olive and truffle oil, fresh lobster, and a secret “picante sauce.” Enjoy, eh!
