Dude, Where’s My Jaboticaba? | The Fruit Hunters

An upcoming documentary called The Fruit Hunters—based on the book of the same name—follows the adventures of those who are addicted to the pursuit and ingestion of the world’s most exotic fruit.

The mangosteen, jaboticaba, and the ever-elusive durian are only a few of the 80,000 edible varieties of fruit sought out by the hunters, who’s passion and dedication is evident in the trailer.

The Fruit Hunters even includes an appearance by actor Bill Pullman—a dedicated Fruit Hunter himself—who reveals similarities between fruit dealing and drug dealing. Right down to the dealer’s explanation of how good their shit is, to the eager sampler ‘tweaking out’ with anticipation of a taste. We think perhaps some of the hunters might have experience with both.

More information on the premise, director, and release date of The Fruit Hunters movie can be found here.
