An Optimus Prime Birthday Cake That Actually Transforms

optimus-prime-cake

It’s our right as kids to have our favorite cartoon or movie character-themed birthday cake. However, very few kids get a cake that does as advertised. For example, a transformer cake that actually transforms.

The son of YouTube member Russell Munro not only got to have a Transformer-themed birthday party, but when it was time to have the requisite cake, the Optimus Prime Birthday Cake actually came to life.

See the celebration in the video below. And, for the record, the one-minute video is more exciting than Transformers: Dark of The Moon. Enjoy.

Sushi Transformers, Assemble!

sushi-transformers-1

As we all know… There are few things that are more fun to play with than sushi. Big Bad Toy Store knows this, and brings us the Sushi Squadron Shirada.

The sushi transformers start off as a Maki roll or piece of Nigiri, then transform into a fierce warrior with a weapon. Their raw fish shields will certainly come in handy against an attack of giant chopsticks and wasabi bombs. Available for pre-order here

Sushi Transformers

If you thought playing with a building that transforms into a robot looked like fun… How about a fish that transforms into a piece of sushi?

Brought to us by Bandai, Gyakusaisei Motomodoru Sushimodoru is a line of Japanese ‘toys’ that start out as a food item, and can be changed into their inevitable sushi form. They’ll be available via toy/gumball machines for about two-dollars a piece.

Just try to curb your child’s enthusiasm, as they anticipate which sushi piece will randomly pop out of the machine — tuna sushi, ikura (salmon eggs), squid, kappa-maki (cucumber) or tamago(egg).

Gingerbread Optimus Prime

Transformer_melange2

Anyone currently making anything made of gingerbread… Please stop, because Gingerbread Optimus Prime has won the internet. Created by Caroline Eriksson, the edible autobot is made entirely of gingerbread and melted sugar.

Although the gingerbreadobot is the Michael Bay movie version. So, it comes equipped with laughable dialogue and a scrawny fondant Shia LaBeouf.*

Transformers Bread, Carbohydrates In Disguise

transformers-fougasse-loaves

Transformers Bread, more than meets the eye… Transformers bread, carbohydrates in disguise. The pull-apart and nerd cuisine-influenced bread is brought to us by recipe blogger Chris-Rachael Oseland.

The ‘How-To’ can be found here. It’s based on a recipe for Fougassee bread, probably because Transformers are fugazi.
