Lunch At Your Desk, Made A Little Less Depressing

IMG_3429_1500_2048

Eating at your desk is sad and inevitable… L.A. photographer, Stephanie Gonot, tries to make it appear a little less depressing, with her recent photo series for NEON magazine, Office Lunching Habits.

Gonot takes those same soul-crushing lunches — Chinese take-out, dry pasta trapped in tupperware, etc. — juxtaposing them with office supplies against an un-cubicle-like colorful backdrop. The lunches then at least appear more interesting, although no less inevitable. Sorry, office drone.

Carrot Eye Chart

carrot-eye-chart-590

Growing up, we’re fed all kinds of lies… Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the boogey man that’s not under the bed [we know he’s there]. But there are few lies our parents told us that are more egregious, than how carrots will help improve our eyesight. A little known fact is that this myth was the result of some innocent war propaganda.

Photographer Henry Hargreaves, always up for a good time with food, created the Carrot Eye Chart. Stand back, start with the big carrot ‘E’ and check your eyesight. I got as far as the line of greek characters and a question mark. Shoulda ate my carrots.

Fad Diets, A Photo Series of Diets That Didn’t Work

fad-diets-a-visual-feast

Most of us have probably never tried the Diet Coke and cigarette diet, or the all-orange food diet. And, it’s probably because these diets were merely fads, and fads are usually stupid.

Brought to us by photographer Stephanie Gonot, Fad Diets explores some of the more unfortunate solutions to being less fat. And, someone please explain how keeping a diet monocramatic helps make your butt jiggle less? See more of the photo seres here.

Hot Dog Legs, Your New Favorite Time-Waster

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Welcome to your new favorite time-waster, and you’re welcome. Hot-Dog Legs is a new Tumblr blog that parodies the ubiquitous summer leg shots that haunt your social media feed. Just try to guess which ones are actual legs, and which are simply tube meat.

Some human legs are easy to spot — goosebumps and feet are a dead giveaway… But the hot dogs with beads of sweat/pork fat might throw you off. Good luck, and let us how you do.
