Picture Cook: Using Illustrations as Recipes

For those who enjoy cooking more than reading, Picture Cook by Katie Shelly is another collection of recipes that uses illustrations in lieu of words, or boring instruction.

According to Shelly, “The following recipes are not intended as precise culinary blueprints. Instead they are meant to inspire experimentation, improvisation, and play in the kitchen.”

Recently, foodiggity featured a website called Recipe Look—dedicated to displaying user submitted entries of hand drawn recipes. This is an interesting enough concept that made us wonder why we do not see more visual recipes. Then we realized that most of the drawings submitted to Recipe Look—for lack of a better term—sucked.

Yelp Illustrated

For those who share our disdain for the mouth breathers that frequent Yelp, we may have just found one of your new favorite sites.

Yelp Yack not only calls out ‘reviews’ from the most obnoxious of the Yelp douchebags and illiterates, artist Jessica Wassil also provides an illustration to drive the point home even further.
