“If God had intended us to follow recipes, He wouldn’t have given us grandmothers.” ~Linda Henley
Here at foodiggity we strongly believe that recipes are suggestions. A step-by-step guide might seem like a great option for someone looking to become a better cook—but it ultimately teaches you nothing and is incredibly boring.
Foodiggity is looking to empower the home cook by providing “recipes” without numbers. Instead, we prefer to provide recipe and quantity suggestions; along with a theme, appropriate soundtrack suggestion, relevant famous quote, or corresponding video clip. We take our cooking very seriously.
“When baking, follow directions. When cooking, go by your own taste.” ~Laiko Bahrs
First and foremost… Prepare to taste. Not only the finished product—something that a standard recipe would have you do—but taste as you go. Treat yourself to a nice tasting spoon, or find the nicest spoon that you have in the house. This spoon will be your ultimate tool in becoming a kick-ass home cook and not just a good recipe reader.
So ignore the numbers and make your cooking personal. Take back your kitchen. Power to the People!
