Metal Kitchen Shows Us How To Make A Shepherd’s Pie By Screaming At Us

January 7, 2016 by Chris Durso

metal-kitchen

Spatulas out, horns up… It’s time to make Shepherd’s Pie at Metal Kitchen. With music provided by The Ghost Inside, our host for this episode, Linzey Rae, offers cooking instructions by yelling at us. Oh, sorry… by singing the instructions metalcore-style.

Subtitles are provided for those who might be more into classical or slow jazz. Either way, there’s a Shepherd’s Pie to comfort you when it’s all over. Check it out here, metalhead.

Chef Creates Meals Inspired By Heavy Metal Bands

Food can be so metal… except vegetables, which are more like slow jazz. Anyways, chef John Hurkes regularly contributes Heavy Metal-Inspired Meals to Rice and Bread Magazine.

Slayer Pizza, Nuclear Assault Nachos, and the Exodus Pork Belly Blood Feast are just a few of the metal meals that’ll make you hungry and head-bangy.

Check out more here, and then get cooking. Horns up, forks out.

Mac Sabbath Is Your New Favorite McDonald’s-Themed Heavy Metal Band

December 30, 2014 by Chris Durso

mac-sabbath

Nothing says ‘heavy metal’ quite like a crazy clown mascot and whatever Grimace is. So, it only makes sense that Mac Sabbath is now a thing.

The McDonald’s-themed band pays tribute to the originators of heavy metal, Black Sabbath, by replacing their titles and lyrics with ones that are more McDonald’s-appropriate. The Black Sabbath standard ‘Paranoid’ becomes ‘Pair-a-Buns,’ while ‘Iron Man’ is turned into ‘Frying Pan’… and so on and so forth.

The tribute band is unsurprisingly fronted by a Ronald McDonald/Ozzy hybrid, while Mayor McCheese picks up the Tony Iommi duties. Your McRhythm section has Hamburglar on drums, while Grimace is on bass.

I, for one, am not looking forward to the Ronald McDio version of this. Please watch.

Slayer Cutting Board Will Have It Raining Blood In The Kitchen

December 29, 2014 by Chris Durso

Showing some mad woodworking skills and a penchant for thrash metal, Instructables member redbadger132 brings us the Heavy Metal Cutting Board.

The board is made mostly from walnut, whose dark appearance goes well with the theme. But, what makes this wood cutting board truly metal is the hard maple inlay of a Slayer logo.

The cutting board was a one-off for the maker’s head-banging chef brother-in-law. So, if you’d like a cutting board of your own that’ll help it rain blood, check out the Splash Cutting Board. \m/

The Communion Burger Is Sacrilicious

October 7, 2013 by Chris Durso

ghost-burger

We once featured a burger with a pentagram on it that cost $666. Now, that may only be the second most sacrilegious cheeseburger ever. The Ghost Burger, by Chicago restaurant Kuma’s Corner, is a communion-themed cheeseburger topped with a red wine reduction (the blood of christ) and a communion wafer (the body).

And, because burgers are now capable of offending people, there are a few that are not too pleased.

The burger was originally created in honor of the Swedish band Ghost, as Kuma’s Corner is a heavy metal-inspired restaurant. Fans can receive the Ghost Burger at Kuma’s Belmont location until the end of October.
